PokerZone
PokerZone is a Facebook application created to link up players who enjoying real-life poker games with friends. It is NOT another online poker game, but rather a tool to link up real-life poker players who may live close to one another, and help them organize games and track winnings in groups.
There is actually a lot of neat features on the back-end: the application will query Facebook for anybody who you will be likely to play poker with and suggest that player’s groups or games to you. It compares a number of the profile fields to do this, such as location, work place, school, zip code, and more. It then ranks up the players who you do not already know, and suggests a few of the top people to you.
I also worked a lot on getting some cool AJAX graphs so you can view your winnings over time. You can also throw your recent poker history into your profile boxes, and other neat Facebook-specific features.
Unfortunately, the application is about 90% complete. While the back-end is functional, I never finished up all the interface for it, and as I moved on to other projects it sits there incomplete. Eventually I intend on patching it up and re-releasing it into the wild, but I’ll need a free month or so to make that happen.
